Ace Inhibitors

 
Dr. Stuart Rich (RushPresbyterian, Chicago) and Dr. Robyn Barst (Columbia Presbyterian, New York) have commenced a clinical study funded by the PPH Cure Foundation of whether adding ACE inhibitors to standard medications improves the health of people with pulmonary hypertension. The theory is that ACE inhibitors, at very low doses, will prevent smooth muscle cell proliferation within pulmonary arterioles without give rise to systemic hypotension.
