Beraprost

United Therapeutics Corporation has commenced a 100+ patient study of Beraprost (an oral version of prostacyclin) for pulmonary hypertension. The study is being conducted by Dr. Richard Channick (UC San Diego) and others. The study lasts for one year, during which a patient may be on active drug or placebo. In Japan, small uncontrolled studies have led to Beraprost being approved for the treatment of primary pulmonary hypertension.
