Exchange of Information

The Foundation has facilitated an exchange of information among PPH researchers by making direct connections between people working in the field. At the 1996 annual convention of the American Thoracic Society, which is the world's largest meeting of pulmonary specialists, the Foundation sponsored a day-long symposium on PPH that was attended by over five hundred professionals. Speakers from throughout the world presented their research results in areas from the pathogenetic factors for PPH to the first animal experiments of a possible gene therapy cure. The Foundation also maintained an information booth and display on the convention exhibit floor.
