Learning About PPH
With PPH, for unknown reasons, some of the
endothelial cell lining of the lung's capillaries get peeled off. As
blood leaks into the smooth muscle cells they continuously constrict
as a reaction. Multiplied thousands of times this chokes off the
flow of blood between the heart and lungs, causing dizziness
exhaustion, fainting and finally heart failure.
Generally speaking, your doctor should
follow the PPH
management algorithm developed by Dr. Rubin and Rich (Source: Lewis J. Rubin & Stuart Rich,
Primary Pulmonary Hypertension 1997)
